Embroidery in Progress

I've been working on this piece for a little over a month. I devote an hour to it every now and then, and had a nice stretch of time in the car with Elliott on Saturday to stitch.

Progress: Cat embroidery

This is a Sublime Stitching pattern by Ryan Berkley.

I just love this pattern (I have plans to make the fox next!).

I'm trying to decide on a name for this very elegant cat.
Any suggestions?

When I'm finished stitching her, she'll either live on a pillow or in a frame on the wall.

  1. I have zero name suggestions, but that is going to be a very elegant cat!

  2. I love this so much. She is a very elegant cat, and also seems to be a little old-fashioned. What about Harriet? Or Lulu?

  6. What incredible work! I agree, she definitely needs a more vintage sounding name...how about Desdemona? :D

  7. Wow, you can embroider in the car? They must have smoother roads in Texas.

I keep seeing the cat as western looking with the red star and the black collar that looks like piping, so I keep thinking western names like Annie. I second the Henrietta suggests.

  9. This cat is amazing! For some reason I can't wait to see the eyes finished. You are doing a great job! Isn't embroidery fun?

  10. I'll add my vote for Henrietta...that name sounds like it belongs to a cat sitting in a bronte book...which is what this piece made me think of for some reason! ;)
