I couldn't help but think of him when I started writing this post today. On Monday, we will celebrate our first wedding anniversary!
I had several thoughts on what I'd like to make first with my Micro Mod prints. I traded with a guild mate for a few half yards recently, so this was a perfect excuse to cut into them.
Then I bought Ayumi's book, Patchwork, Please and landed on a plan.
I made the Polka-Dot-Cafe Apron, using two Micro Mod prints (tick tock and Vertigo) along with several Kona solids (Cactus, Berry, Crocus) and Essex Linen in Grey.
I just love how the colors pop in this design!
Yep, it's a winner! I didn't mean to do it, but my outfit was color-coordinated with the apron yesterday!
Feel free to join the Micro Mod flickr group over here with any projects you make! And be sure to check out the other blogs in this event!

I love the apron - so pretty! I've been meaning to check out that book.
ReplyDeleteEnglish paper pieced hexagons are currently my favorite thing in the world. Before I tried it I thought I wouldn't enjoy doing all that hand sewing, but it goes surprisingly quickly.
I like log cabins very well because they are so versatile. Lately I've been having fun with wonky, scrappy, monotone log cabins.
ReplyDeleteLove the apron :) I am doing some curved patchwork at the moment, tricky but fun!
ReplyDeleteI adore this fabric line! I can't wait to see how the Amelia dress turns out. Seems like it would be a pretty awesome go-to summer dress.

ReplyDeleteWhat a cute apron, and I love the color coordination! I love a Wonky Star, best of all. :)
ReplyDeleteMy current favorite is the Irish chain. You can achieve so many different looks by reversing the traditional color variation. My swap bee, which was formed on a retreat years ago, is currently exchanging red and white irish chain blocks. So much fun to see everyone's different quilt finishes all sewn from the same exchanged blocks!
