New photos of old FOs

Purple waffles in action

Back in January, I finished my Purple Waffles, but over Thanksgiving, my sister got a great punching shot with them in action. I love the gloves (and I love my bangs!), so I'm grateful that Jill was willing to snap a few punching shots.

Additionally, I took some outside photos of Wesley, which was another January FO.

I still haven't worn this hat, but I'm glad to have some clearer shots of the lovely FO.

This was not a complicated knit, but it sure looks impressive!

It's a sister thing

This morning, Jill came over, and instead of what we were supposed to do, we decided to go buy hair dye instead. We piddled in Target for an hour or so, picked our color(s) (technically, they're different, but they were essentially the same color), and back at my place, Dean dyed our hair.
After:

This is the darkest my hair has ever been. I love it. We had fun, made yummy sandwiches (with avocado!), and I knit while she played Katamari (she's addicted). It's been a good day.
Last night, I found a nice fabric to line Square Cake with.

I wanted something delicate and dainty, since it is such a special occasion. Here's the progress so far:

I've only got about 10 more rows before the handles, so I'm feeling pretty good about my deadline.
Finally, here's some other fabric I've purchased in the last week:

Fat quarters I purchased on etsy (along with two half-yards of fun fabric).

I also bought this gorgeous print, which I plan to use for a dress or shirt. I'm sort of embracing yellow and orange, which I used to think washed me out.

A first

Saturday night, I dyed my hair. It's nothing crazy, but for me it is, a little. Besides tattoos, I've never done much to modify the way I look. It's a dark reddish color, I love it, and it's nice to have a change. I didn't get much knitting done this weekend though, which is disappointing. I'm almost done with the first fetching glove for Jenny, and I hope to finish it completely tonight, so I can start on the other one. I'd really like to start a sweater for me, but I'm feeling a little anxious about starting something so big and intimidating. I also find it frustrating ti pick something because I never have all the needles required for a project. That's why I'm asking for the knitpicks options kit for Christmas. That'll solve it.
