I'm sure you know how that goes. Sometimes, you just need to start crafting.
Why am I telling you this?
Well, the problem is, I don't really wear shawls. I've given several away to family members, but I still have quite the collection. And so, friends, I'd like to share with you.
I have picked out three shawls to share with my readers. I love each one, but knowing that they are being enjoyed and worn would make me a happy girl.
First up, my Starry Night Shawl, from Kate's Multnomah pattern. I knit most of this shawl while I was in Boston with my sister, two years ago.
Second, my aptly named Two Sides of Monsieur Valentine. This is the Traveling Woman pattern, another favorite. I knit this in February of last year, and named it after one of my favorite Spoon songs. I used Shibui Sock yarn, which I love (and have more of in the stash!)
Finally, Apple Ishbel is available. This was my third time to knit Ysolda's Ishbel pattern, which shows how much I love it. This pale green yarn is a very soft blend of alpaca, silk and cashmere.
I just realized this, but I'm sharing one shawl completed from 2009, 2010 and 2011. Neat!
So, to win, leave me a comment (one per person, please!) telling me about your favorite crafty project of the moment (either yours or someone else's). Also, please tell me which of these shawls is your favorite!
You can enter until Sunday night.
Good luck!
Three winners will be chosen early next week. International entries are welcome!
whoa, you are very generous! i love the red one. and my current fave project is all the Swoon quilts out there.
ReplyDeleteThat apple green yarn is gorgeous. I have a similar version in the laceweight. I have yet to risk knitting with it because I'm scared I'll waste it.
ReplyDeleteMy favourite pattern at the moment is the Mitred Crosses For Japan blanket (http://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/mitered-crosses-blanket--for-japan). Blankets are like shawls, they just need pattern, yarn and needles. I am addicted to blankets. Luckily I have friends who seem to keep having babies LOL
I love the red one! (I've only been adventurous enough to knit a shawl twice in the many years I've been knitting.) I am currently loving the charity bee blocks I've been making.
ReplyDeleteThese are gorgeous! I hate to pick just one, but the Apple Ishbel is amazing! My favorite project at the moment is my quilt for my baby girl. I hope to start free-motion quilting it this weekend and *crossing fingers* hope to have it done next week. I am not sure how much longer before my baby girl is here!
ReplyDeleteThey are all beautiful, but I that the red one is my favorite. My favorite project is socks, any kind, in extra colorful sock yarn.
ReplyDeletewow, these are amazing! what a generous giveaway. right now i am working on knitting a pair of fingerless gloves for a friend. i have made a few multhnomah shawls in the past, but smaller projects seem easier for me these days. i've never made the ishbel but i LOVE yours!
ReplyDeletewow, very generous of you! i won't enter the giveaway because i don't wear my own shawls, but they are all very lovely.
ReplyDeleteOh, wow, these are all stunning! I've been on a shawl kick myself lately, but I'm worried I won't get them finished fast enough to wear this winter in my chilly office. Thanks so much for the generous giveaway!

I love them all! If I have to pick a favorite it's the apple ishbel. At the moment preserving food is taking over my life, but I really want to work on some scrappy quilts. Thanks!
ReplyDeletethis is an amazing giveaway! the travelling woman shawl is my favourite, with starry night coming in a close second!
ReplyDeleteat the moment, my favourite crafty project is my TARDIS scarf, a lacy cabled beaded scarf that looks like the Doctor's (of Doctor Who) spaceship flying through space! Loving it didn't stop me from not being able to knit on it for three weeks, though...
Right now I am putting all the blocks together for a twelve month BOM Christmas quilt. The finishing sashings and borders are so pretty and I can't wait to finish it. All of the shawls are beautiful, but the Traveling Woman is my favorite!
ReplyDeleteHow incredibly generous of you! The Starry Night definitley grabs me. My favorite project of the moment is still my improv journal covers. I just love seeing what emerges. It's so unpredictable.
ReplyDeleteWow! How nice! And how perfect for fall!
ReplyDeleteI've been caught up sewing cloth pads for a charity project I'm hosting. I hope to have 250 pads donated by the end of this month and we are almost there! Good stuff!
Today I am going to be finishing up some random WIP scattered about my cutting table....hope to be productive!
#3 is my fav...green is my fav color and I love the design. Thanks for the chance to win! :)
that's so generous of you!! I won't enter the contest since I too find I don't wear my triangular shawls as much as I'd like to already, but they are all gorgeous.
ReplyDeleteThey're all so beautiful, but the Apple Ishbel is definetely my favourite :)
ReplyDeleteI'm really enjoying making bunting at the moment, it's quick, fun and so cheerful when it's done!
Thanks for a chance to win :)
How can you bear to part with these beautiful FOs?!? I LOVE "Two Sides of Monsieur Valentine", both the Spoon song and your lovely shawl. Currently I am ambitiously working on a cardigan out of Wollmeise lace-garn (http://www.ravelry.com/projects/meganwilliams/daffodil) that I am absolutely loving. Thanks for the opportunity to win!
ReplyDeleteI love them all!
ReplyDeleteI'm crocheting another ripple blanket at the moment!
Travelling woman is my favourite. Although I love them all.
ReplyDeleteI love my stripe study shawl that I'm knitting at the moment. I think it's such a cool pattern and love how many nice coloured versions are out there.
You are a rockstar and a generous one at that. I have firsthand knowledge of how wonderful your knits are and would love to own more of them. I think my favorite is the red, followed by the Apple Ishbel. But all are gorgeous. As for me, I can't shake the quilting bug, even though I have lots of other projects (some back to school clothes for the kids) that I really *should* be working on. Possibly my favorite current project is simply hoarding fabric. Is that so wrong?
ReplyDeleteI would love to win one of your shawls! I have not made myself one but really want one! thanks for the chance :)
ReplyDeleteMy favorite project that I'm loving of mine right now is some Kraft peanut butter jars that I'm sprucing up, they're the old kind that are shaped like bears! and my favorite of someone else's is something I just found a few minutes ago! http://thompsonfamily.typepad.com/thompson_familylife/2011/08/pegboard-cross-stitch-wall-art-diy.html
First off, i think the traveling woman might be my favorite.
ReplyDeleteRight now my favorite crafty projects would be cardigans. I see so many popping up on other peoples' project pages and I would really love to make one for myself.
Wow, you are so sweet to part with these beauties! I hope one day I'll learn to knit!!
ReplyDeleteThey are all so beautiful! I think the red one might be my favorite!
How very sweet of you to have such a great give away! It's not really my favorite crafty project, but this weekend I will be sewing a nap mat cover for my granddaughter, and I love making things for my children and grandchildren.
ReplyDeleteAll of the shawls are beautiful, but green is my color, so I guess it would be the Apple Ishbul. But I would love to win any of them. I really enjoy all your work! You are one talented woman!!!!
My favorite project right now is the Tempest Sweater (from Knitty). I just gauged, edited the pattern for my size, and cast on! It's my "make-it-through-Irene" project :o)
ReplyDeleteI love all the shawls! I think my favorite though is the Starry Night one. I love the colors
SO LOVELY! I'D BE PLEASED WITH ANY OF THEM! BUT IF I MUST CHOOSE IT'D BE THE RED! THANKS SO FOR SHARING, FROM A NO-KNITTER FRIEND!

ReplyDeleteWhat a gorgeous and generous giveaway! Thank you! They are all so wonderful! I love the Apple Ishbel! My current favorite project is..well a future project..I'm having such a crush on cathedral window quilts right now! I really want to make one, or at least a pillow. :)
ReplyDeleteI think I like the pale green one the most. They are all lovely, of course ;-) and your give-away is a great idea. (followed a link here on a rainy day from Chawne's site.) What great weather for knitting. Current crafy occupation? Cute dishcloths & socks. Using up yarn from the drawers, no new yarn!!!
