This week

I intended to be back here sooner, but it's been a fun week with some big accomplishments. I hope you have experienced the same!
First up, I am starting to exercise again. It's been AGES. ages. Too long and I've felt so lazy and complacent.

I hope I can keep it up this time. I'm just running/walking (mostly walking, but that's okay), with a little pilates (dvd) thrown in for good measure. I'm writing it here to add an extra layer of guilt!

I've been on a garment sewing kick, and finished a second version of this top. It's New Look pattern #0134, and I used a pinstripe linen this time.

FO: Maya Blouse

I also finished New Look #6010 in a favorite Maya print (by Leah Duncan).

I intend to share modeled shots of both shirts soon. I am especially pleased with the Maya top. I'll share more details on both shirts when I post the modeled shots.

QuiltingI have also been quilting away on my Marcelle Medallion. The quilting is now finished, but you can see a sneak peek above. I'm so SO in love with this quilt. Binding is almost finished, so I hope to be able to share the finish next week!

So, that's my week in a nutshell.

What about you?

  1. I can't wait to see that medallion! Your quilting looks awesome. And I love seeing your garments. This is the year of me sewing, and so far I've made one Washi (haven't blogged it yet) and right now I'm almost done with a Staple dress. But the fabric might be really ugly... oh well, I'll make a pretty one next time. Exercise. Hmm. Sounds good in theory :)

  6. I am so excited to see your completed medallion! I've stalled because I can't decide on the fabric for that LAST border. One of the easiest borders ever too.

  7. I'm holding judgement until I see modeled shots. ;) And congrats on starting back to exercise. My only suggestion is to make sure you do something every single day. Even if it is just a few minutes walk around the block. It's so hard to start a habit so if you do it every day, even a little, it'll stick faster!

  8. Ooh, I can't wait to see the shirts! The sleeveless one I saw in person several months ago was great so I'll bet these are spectacular.

And that quilting just blows me away- that is going to be one heck of a quilt! (Plus, this is all tempting me to get a nice sunny craft room in our next place so that I can keep the sewing machine somewhere other than its current home on top of the bookcase - out of reach of little fingers).
