A winner and some Geraniums

First thing is first! The winner of the RJR Cotton Supreme Solids fat quarter bundle is, #18, Amy!

Congrats, and thanks to everyone that entered!

I'm not sure if you've tried the Geranium dress pattern by Rae, but you should if you have a little girl to sew for. I've made several of these dresses, and I recently finished a few more. My friend, Rue, just had her second child. I thought her oldest, lovingly referred to as Tadpole, might like a dress.

I used this favorite Garden Party print, with a fun orange print for the yoke lining.

My grandmother has shared a collection of buttons with me, and I found these in her stash.

I also made a few that were intended for a craft show last fall. I wasn't able to participate, but decided to add the dresses to my etsy shop.

This is such a great pattern for baby shower gifts, and for big sisters, too!

Shop Update

Thanks for all the Long Addition love!

I don't mention my etsy shop often here, but I have decided to run a coupon for a couple of weeks.

Unfortunately, I won't be able to participate in the craft show that I mentioned, and I'd like to clear out some shop items.

So, if you're interested, please take a look! I've got one favorite quilt listed, several pillows and lots of destash items. I'll be adding more this week, too.

If you spend $20.00 or more, use coupon code FIVEOFF for a $5.00 discount!

I hope you find something you like. And thanks for your support, friends!

The coupon is good until Friday, October 18th.

Fresh start

Happy new year! I did not anticipate being away for so long. I had a pretty fabulous end to 2012. I hope you did, too!

I am hoping to get organized in this space in the next few weeks. I want to share my annual "best of" post, a recap of my crafty ventures in the last year, and my goals for the next 12 months.

In the meantime, I thought I'd share pictures of some of my last 2012 finishes.

FO: Second Tote

I made a second Art Student Tote for a friend.

Scrappy stockings

I filled some custom orders, including these stockings for Jenny.

Shoo-fly top

I assembled my second do.Good Stitches quilt top, which I'll be quilting very soon. Love the shoo-fly blocks of various sizes!

Dishtowel

I made a few quick dishtowels for my mother-in-law and sister-in-law with some fun scraps!

Pillow in progress

I worked on some pillows for the shop, which I hope to finish this week.

Tiny Bear Paws in the making

I started working with some tiny HSTs I assembled earlier this year. These are leftovers from the mini quilt I made

Oh, and last but not least, if you're looking for the winners of the Holiday Craft Bash prizes, Meredith's post is here!

Pillows

I've been on a pillow kick. Pillows are similar to mini quilts; you can experiment with colors and patterns in a small space.

FO: Raspberry and Aqua Pillow

This one is simple patchwork, but the colors really sing! The background is Painter's Canvas, by Laura Gunn. The patchwork center is a Lecien print, and that's what inspired this color combination.

The start of something

Next, I started this fun little piece, which Olias seems to like! The center is Tula Pink Meteor Shower, which I just love! I thought it paired nicely with Ellen Luckett-Baker's Quilt Blocks print. (P.S. Have you seen her new Kokka line sneak peeks??) Add a little Painter's Canvas, and some additional Tula Pink prints and voila!

Meteor Shower Pillow

Another fun pillow.

Stash Fabric has the Meteor Shower Print and the Painter's Canvas.

Pink Castle also has plenty of Tula Pink available, if you're interested in any of these prints!

For both pillows, I used an envelope closure.
Next time, I'm going to use a covered zipper, like this SMS tutorial.

In case you're interested in one of these pillows, I've listed them in my little Etsy shop.

Happy Thursday!

Nearly done!

So, first, I have to say, that I was blown away that my tote bag sold yesterday. I was having a pretty rough morning, and seeing that first sale email was amazing. I'm especially touched, that my good friend, Amy bought it. It means so much, Amy. Thank you!

So, today, a new day, I want to share a couple of photos I took last night. Since the photos, I have finished and washed the quilt. Photos soon!

WIP: Citrus Improv Quilt

I used a Dear Stella basketweave to make binding for the do.Good Stitches Citrus Improv quilt. Bella, of course, was happy to test out the quilt and make sure it's soft.

WIP: Citrus Improv Quilt

I'll share the finished quilt later this week.

A quick note

I hope you don't have a case of the Mondays, like I do. Thanks for all your sweet comments on my table runner tutorial!

This week will be a doozy, but I wanted to pop in to share a little tote I finished over the weekend.

Canvas Tote

I used a little Melody Miller cut, along with two polka dots (It's a Hoot and Amy Butler Full Moon), Moda Measuring Tape canvas for the exterior. It's lined with a print from Leah Duncan's Maya. Lots of happy colors and fabrics! It's available (along with a couple of destash items) in case you're interested.

I have a baby quilt to share, but no pictures yet. Soon!

Etsy purchase - Misty Dawn

Sometimes, a girl needs a little something new.

New earrings

Last week, for me, it was these earrings. I found them on Etsy, from Misty Dawn Designs.

New earrings

They're hammered silver, but I have to admit, they're just a wee bit tinier than I'd like. I still love them, and will definitely wear them regularly.

I'd love to hear about any etsy shops you enjoy; there's always room for another on my favorites list!
