I did, however, trade my old sewing machine to my good friend Sarah, and in return, I was able to pick one skein of her lovely spinnings.
I chose this. I think I may have gotten the better end of the bargain. The yardage is between 350 and 400 yards of DK weight. The colors are incredible. I forgot to ask about the original fiber dyeing, but yep, I'm in love.
On a related note, when I went to Austin a couple of weeks ago to visit Sarah (and make said exchange), we went to Hill Country Weavers, one of my favorite yarn stores, and all I bought was the new Knitscene magazine.
No yarn.
I picked up, I contemplated, but in the end, my purchase was less than ten dollars.
Willpower. Who knew?
Although, fabric is an entirely different story.
Your new yarn matches your blog background. It is lovely.
ReplyDeleteit's beautiful yarn! what will you do with it?
ReplyDeleteYummy yarn!
ReplyDeletewhoa, that is so beautiful!! i love the colours. Can't wait to see what you knit up with such lovely yarn!
ReplyDeleteOh my goodness! I love that yarn! Does your friend sell her yarn?
ReplyDeleteBeautiful!! so many colors!!
ReplyDeleteYes, I'm finding other ways to spend my yarn money too!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful, I love these colors. Can't wait to see what you knit with it! (sjn821 on Rav)
ReplyDeleteThat yarn is divine!
ReplyDeleteI'm impressed with your willpower. I sort of fell off the wagon last week when I followed a link to a sweater kit that almost made me fall off my chair...love at first site which actually rarely happens with me (I favorite the pattern and go back and forth for months before deciding that yes I like it enough to knit). I figure when you react that way, why let a little self-imposed rule stand in the way. I'm now firmly seated back on the wagon though.
Wow, you should photograph all my handspun! You make it look fabulous. It actually makes me want to spin again!
ReplyDeleteAlso, I was thinking that I got the better end of the deal. If we both think so, it must have been a good trade!
Oh, and the fiber dyer was AllSpunUp on Etsy. One of favorites!
