March bee blocks

After finishing Marcelle (which is now basted and ready for some quilting attention), I decided to tackle March bee blocks.
First up, do.Good Stitches blocks for Natalie. For the second time, Natalie planned ahead for her month and wrote a new tutorial for us to use. Here's what she chose this month. Here is the previous one (a stunner!), if you're interested.

Blocks for Natalie

I really enjoyed making these blocks. They seem complex, but came together quickly. And I love the colors Natalie selected.

Over here, I shared my first word for Jessica's wonky bee quilt. I decided to work on some neutral patchwork to start assembling the quilt top.

Two words and Melissa's amazing paper-pieced star are now assembled. I also pieced the word art.

And that wraps up bee commitments for March.

To quilt!

Now, to quilt!

  1. Have fun quilting! She looks pretty even all folded up.

  2. Jacey-these are all so pretty. I was amazed by your letters, as I am queen of my bee next month and am planning something similar. Did you improv piece or use a pattern for the words??

  3. Pretty nice post. I just stumbled upon your weblog and wanted to say that I've truly enjoyed surfing around your blog posts. After all I'll be subscribing to your
feed and I hope you write again soon!

  4. You are on such a role lady!!! I love your blocks, the wordage, and I can NOT wait to see your finished quilt!

  5. Love both of these projects! Definitely going to go check out that tutorial. And I love the neutral but varied background of the word art quilt.

  6. lovely bee blocks for Natalie. Enjoy quilting the medallion quilt! I'm curious what pattern you will use.

  7. I visited various blogs however the audio feature for audio songs
present at this site is genuinely superb.

  8. I have read so many articles or reviews about the blogger lovers but this piece of writing is in fact a pleasant piece
    of writing, keep it up.

  9. Love your bee blocks! Can't wait to see your quilting on the Marcelle :)

  10. Your word blocks are too cool! Can't wait to see the full views of all your finishes!

  11. love your addition to jessicas quilt. it is going to be beautiful! i love those blocks for natalie also. she is so clever in her block ideas. im going to send sara's box to you tomorrow! xo

  12. Okay, I love the colors in that first picture of blocks. I never really thought much about blue and orange together until a friend sent me some dishcloths with those colors and I fell in love.

  13. The paper pieced star is awesome - really, really lovely. But I keep coming back to the log cabin-ish blocks for Natalie's quilt. I'm a huge fan of that pattern and color combo.
