Last year, I made a solids bundle for Stash Fabrics (she is still offering the bundle here, if you like!).
I shared the quilt top back in, oh wow. July! I somehow forgot to share the finished quilt, but good news!

I've been working on another version, using large blocks (a Doe layer cake, to be exact) and some Kona strips.
I hope this one will be an FO before the end of the year!
A few months back, I had a quilt pattern published in Quilt Now.
This was such an exciting achievement for me, and I really have no excuse as to why I'm just now sharing it here.
It's a fun and bright nine-patch quilt, and I used some very favorite prints to make a scrappy, happy quilt.
I quilted it in a simple crosshatch, and used my top-three favorite Joel Dewberry herringbone in navy for the binding.
It's backed in other stash favorites; I just love a scrappy quilt back.

I bought Anna's Go Anywhere Bag pattern when it was released (almost a year ago, wow!), and decided to give it a try this weekend.
If you've never used one of Anna's patterns, let me say that they are very easy to follow! I've tried both her envelope and gathered clutch patterns previously.
I used a variety of prints to make this bag.
For the main exterior fabric, I used Laura Gunn's Painter's Canvas in Mermaid. Painter's Canvas is definitely one of my favorite blenders. I just love the texture of those brushstrokes! The front pocket is from Khristian A. Howell's Desert Daydreams. And you can see I used the Riley Blake Ombre Dots for the straps.
I also used them for the back pocket. Yep, those dots don't disappoint! I love their scale, and of course, their ombre-ness (Yeah, I just made up a word).
I decided to use two different lining prints, one for pockets, one for the main portion.
For the pockets, Jenean Morrison's Grand Hotel Mezzanine print in Sand. This is a great basic print!
The main lining is Joel Dewberry's Deer Valley, in Barnwood.

I started and finished this fun pincushion organizer for the Modernista swap. I used Elizabeth Hartman's pattern, posted on Sew Mama Sew. The pattern is very straightforward, and the only trouble I had was handsewing the closure in a pretty way. Luckily, the seam is hidden in use. The pattern uses just under three fat quarters, and a small piece of felt. The cushion is very substantial, as it is filled with rice.
Fabrics used are all from the stash. The interior of the scrap bag is a Ruby Sundae Stripe, the exterior, is of course Mono Pez in navy, and the pocket panel fabric is from Leah Duncan's Maya.
Hopefully, my partner likes it! She's been quiet in the group, so I'm going with my gut. I'm still deciding what to make for my second item, but I've still got all month to figure that out.

I have to say, I've always had aspirations to write my own patterns.
Then Rachel gave me the push I needed when she asked me to contribute to Celebrate Color. I was thrilled, and a little scared. I originally started this scarf pattern back in June, but when I made a trade on Ravelry for this gorgeous wool/alpaca blend in my favorite color of the season, well, I was inspired. I love, love, love this shade of yellow. And I didn't think I could wear the shade, but I think it works!
I'm proud to share with you this free scarf pattern.
I hope there are more patterns in my future.

I think the gathered stitches make such a great texture! The pattern is easy enough that you can probably knit one up quickly as a gift. And don't be intimidated if you're new to knitting; this pattern only uses: knits, purls, K2Tog (knit two together), and KFB (knit front and back). I recommend Knitting Help if you need help with these stitches.

I used a DK weight yarn for this scarf, but a worsted weight will work just fine!

I wanted to share a couple of projects with you, which have DS Quilts in common.
I, personally, do not love the entire DS Quilts first line that came out, but I do love the print I used in both of these items very much.
First up, I made this skirt from Butterick pattern 5613.
The reason you're not viewing a modeled shot is because it looks frumpy as all get out on me. I think you have to be a size two to be able to pull this off, due to the gathered waist.
I thought it would be a good "masking" choice, but no, it adds more than I actually have around the waistline.
Not good.
I'm debating whether I should try to salvage it. I do love the style, and maybe I could pull it off if I reduced the amount of gathering at the hips. It has pockets, which are pretty awesome!
Until I make up my mind, this sits unhemmed.
My other DS project is a win, though!
I bought Anna's Gathered Clutch pattern awhile back, and finally tried it this weekend.
I used Kona Daffodil, Annie's Farm Stand Seed Catalogue, and the DS Quilts print, as well as a vintage zipper from the stash. This was a great pattern, and I will definitely make more of these in the future.
P.S. Thanks to my sweet boyfriend, I have AC in the car again! It was a little cheaper than expected, and I didn't have to suffer in the August Houston humid heat.
I took this photo in August, and I'm pretty sure I cut the fabric for this skirt shortly thereafter.
Then, I forgot about it. It sat in pieces for seven months or so, and then Monday, I sewed it together.
I installed my first invisible zipper (which isn't quite invisible, but close!), and chopped six inches off the pattern to make what I think is a very fun skirt.
I have a fairly big stash of the Mendocino line by Heather Ross, and I'm glad I used some of it on this project (and on my quilt, which you can see on the bed). I tried on the skirt with a few different shirts, and this purple is a favorite with the orange.
I used Amy Butler's Barcelona Skirts pattern, and made the A-line version. I love this layered version, and of course, Kara's version is made of awesome. I'm sure I'll use the pattern again. I'm in the mood for skirts at the moment.
It was super easy to put together, once I got around to doing it.
The problem is, I can't decide which of the following four five patterns to start:
Alternatively, I could try to finish my Central Park Hoodie.
Thoughts? Suggestions? Am I crazy for thinking I could knit one of these in five weeks?
